Symptoms Of Parkinson’s May Appear 10 Years Before Movement Disorders

Symptoms Of Parkinson’s May Appear 10 Years Before Movement Disorders

Patients Are Unaware Of The Disease And It Is Left Untreated

Parkinson’s disease consists of the degeneration of nerve cells, and its symptoms are shaking while standing or sitting. It affects the mechanisms of the brain responsible for movement and coordination. However, there are non-motor symptoms that appear as early as a decade before, such a the inability to perceive colors and reduced blinking, which results in dry eye. These symptoms are usually undiagnosed because the patient is not aware of the disease. Identifying them may help to follow disease progression and verify the interaction of the patient to drug treatment. Additional info click here.
